INTRODUCTION
Formation and development:
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) of Tra Vinh General Hospital was established in 1992, separated from the combined Ophthalmology–ENT–Dentistry Department, with an initial staff of 01 doctor and 03 nurses. Over more than three decades of development, the department has continuously strengthened its expertise, expanded its scale and adopted modern techniques, fully meeting patients' needs for examination, treatment and surgery.
Functions and Responsibilities:
The Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT) is a specialized department responsible for:
- Examination, diagnosis and treatment of ENT conditions such as rhinopharyngitis, sinusitis, otitis, congenital head and neck conditions…
- Treatment of emergency conditions: sudden hearing loss, nosebleeds, foreign bodies in the ear, nose and throat
- Surgery for chronic sinusitis with nasal polyps and for otitis media with tympanic membrane perforation; tonsillectomy; adenoidectomy…
- Emergency treatment: maxillofacial trauma, pharyngeal and laryngeal trauma, deep neck abscesses…
- Audiometry and health check-ups upon request.

- Endoscopic sinus surgery and polypectomy using a microdebrider (shaver)
